Richard Haning works with salvaged wood, hand-stacking thousands of individual pieces to create bespoke furniture and objects. Built piece by piece—layer upon layer—his works are constructed in a process akin to a coiled ceramic vessel or an analog 3D printer, where form is slowly revealed through accumulation. Once assembled, each piece is refined by hand, producing a honed surface with subtle variations unique to the object.
