Through painting, drawing, and textiles, Baptista creates intimate portraits in everyday domestic spaces. Working with unconventional materials—from tattoo transfer ink to pigmented glue and found fabrics—she transforms remnants and heirlooms into patterned, memory-laden works. Her practice reclaims lost histories, weaving personal and cultural narratives into objects that bridge past and present.

A set of six wall charms inspired by figures from the Major Arcana in Tarot. Each piece evokes vintage crystal vessels and brilliant-cut glass, imagining heirlooms and the people who carry them. Hand-embroidered with a mix of natural cotton and vibrant Sashiko threads, and suspended on twisted polyester and cotton twine, these charms were designed in Brooklyn and completed in Puerto Rico. Part decorative accent, part sculptural object, they can pattern a wall, highlight a nook, or add texture and color anywhere in a space.
